Southern Track Days Event Rules and Requirements

Nobody wants to be a stick in the mud but with this type of event there is a certain level of danger that we all understand exists. That is why we reserve the right to expel any rider or riders at any time during the event.


Please make sure you are familiar with the flags you will see on the track before you head out to our next event.


Rules

Please make sure to register on time. The day of the event, armbands will be checked by race control during the entire event. No one will be permitted on the track without an armband, Tech sticker and Group decal. Anyone that is caught trying to cheat the system will be expelled from the event and all Southern Track Days events in the future. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE!

NO STUNTING OF ANY KIND will be permitted. We all know the difference between a power wheelie and a stand up, between hard on the brakes and an endo.

No rider may, at any time ride in such a manner as to endanger themselves or other riders, officials, and / or staff. Such riding includes blatant violation of flag conditions as displayed by corner workers. Riders who act in such manner will be ejected from the event, without exception and will not receive a refund.

Alcohol and other intoxicants are forbidden during on-track hours, 7:00AM - 5:00PM. We can all have fun in the pits at night but remember to be kind to your neighbor at night

If you are found in possession of such substances you will be immediately ejected, forfeit your cash for the event and be asked to leave the track. We will be on the lookout for any violation of this rule.

Anyone who creates a disruption that interferes with the operation of the event will be ejected.

The use of IPods, MP3 players or any other device that plays music, news or TV is prohibited on the track or anywhere in hot pit, standard ear protection is permitted as long as it's not connected to an electronic device. Violators will be asked to comply; second violation will be cause for ejection. No refund will be provided.

The Southern Track Days Staff reserves the right to refuse admission to any individual. Any individual denied permission to attend will not receive a refund. You cannot sell your spot without prior approval from the Southern Track Days Staff.

Any rider who crashes must be evaluated by the on-site paramedic staff. If they determine you should not proceed, you're done for the day and their decision is final. If the paramedics determines you may physically return to riding, your bike and gear will have to be re-teched before you are permitted back on the track.

If you cause a crash that takes out another rider, the incident will be reviewed by the track personnel, the Southern Track Days Staff. If it's found that it was caused by an unsafe act you will be done for the day, no exceptions. Sorry.

This is a rain or shine event, no refunds will be provided due to poor weather conditions or acts of God.

All participants will be required to register and sign a release the day of the event and provide a photo ID. The release will state that you will not hold the Southern Track Days Staff or management responsible for any incidents that may occur. You may not sell or barter your spot to anyone who has not been approved by the Southern Track Days Staff. Failure to do so will be grounds for ejection and forfeiture of funds.

Ensure that your bike meets the decibel requirements that are now being enforced at most tracks. If you are signaled out due to a violation in the decibel rule, Southern Track Days nor its staff will be held responsible. You will have to re mediate your exhaust to meet Track standards. If you cannot, NO REFUND WILL BE PROVIDED.


Typical Track day Agenda



Bike Preparation

All Bikes will have a group sticker issued to them. You will not be permitted to ride in any other group except the one that you have been stickered for. No exceptions!

  • All bikes will be inspected and must pass tech, if you fail you have the opportunity to correct the issue. If you cannot correct the challenge a refund will NOT be provided.
  • Sound requirements are handled by the local venue staff and are sampled during the sessions. Southern Track Days is not responsible for any decibel failures.
  • Tires and brakes must be in good condition with tires having at least 75% of tread. Tires with wear indicators showing will not be permitted on the track. Slicks are permitted as long as they are 90% condition.
  • All glass, headlight, turn signals, and plastic lenses must be taped over. Painters tape and duct tape works greats for this; also brake lights must be turned off. Mirrors must be removed.
  • Wheel weights must be well secured with duct tape.
  • License plates must be removed completely.
  • Advance group riders must use coolant that is none glycol based, products like Engine Ice, water wetter or plain water are acceptable.


Rider Gear Requirements

  • Damage free DOT or SNELL full-face helmet with face shield
  • Riding boots that fully cover the ankle
  • Gauntlet style gloves with full wrist coverage
  • One or two piece leathers. Two-piece leather suits must zip together.
  • A hard back protector or body armor is recommended for the Intermediate and Advanced groups but not required.
