Typical Track day Agenda

What to expect at our events

The typical Southern Track Day starts bright and early at around 7:00 AM local time. We make an announcement welcoming all the track addicts to the event and we let you know that Bike tech will begin at 7:30 AM Bike inspection starts with the staff inspecting all bikes for the required track day specifications as laid out in the Riders Section

Registration starts promptly at 8:00 am and runs through till the riders meeting starts at 8:45 am once the riders meeting starts there will be no bike tech or registration and all riders are required to attend the riders meeting. At the riders meeting you will be briefed on the race flags that will be used at the event, you will receive instruction on pass and on the rules of the track venue. Once the riders meeting is over registration and bike tech will continue till 9:15 at which time it will close for the day and no other riders will be inspected or registered. So make sure you plan accordingly.

The first group out is Intermediate so we suggest that you come to the riders meeting ready to ride. The second group is Advance, and then followed by Novice. Novice will head right into the classroom after the riders meeting and will meet after every session in the classroom for instructions. This is the rotation that will be followed during the event, each day. The groups will be announced by the loud speaker with a first call, second call and final call.

At around noon time depending on the sessions we will break for lunch for an hour. At this time the track is down and no one is permitted on it, most folks take this time to eat and relax. They also hydrate which is very important in order to have a safe and fun track day.

We resume with Intermediate at or around 1:00 pm and we continue till the close of the day usually four or five pm depending on the venue. Sometimes after lunch we conduct a mock start for the advance group, this is a fun event to watch and is open only to advance riders and staff.

At the end of the day is when the real fun starts. Everyone starts to relax in the pits some folks have a cool drink while sharing the day’s successes with close friends and family. You see Southern Track Days is a family oriented event so sometimes we have more fun after the day is over than during the track event. You have folks grilling in the pits and all sorts of good times abound.

The next day arrives and we do it all over again!
